  • 🤨

  • this video has more IQ than kardashians

  • I had ideas at the pause for rook to c5 knight to e5 pawn takes e5 rook takes pawn on e5 triple and you have a rook queen and rook on the e file with check on the king. Is there anything that can refute this? The knight is pinned so its seems just winning for white. If black plays pawn to b6 when white goes rook to c5 you just go knight to e5 threatening the queen

  • What a game!

  • That was really a brave rook 🥊

  • I'm really missing Agadmator lately...

  • “The bravest Rook in chess history” 🧐

  • When you played Ke8 at 9:37 I was like ohhhhhhh

  • Really nice

  • 21:01 -- betimes (be-times) -- early ; before the expected time

  • nusa

  • Brave or annoying? Depends what side of board you are sitting on.

  • Bardeleben left the table for a short break, walked into the street - and got hit by a bus.

  • I expect another remake when SEnewss supports 8k and 120 fps

  • *"He didn't resign, he.just left the game."* ... And so began the age of *rage quitting.*

  • At in this position, Rook in c1 achieve the bravest rook without even moving

  • And I thought the rook was a milk bottle.

  • White was just one move away from getting checkmatted. Amazing game👏👏👏

  • how many emoticons do you have on your channel? google: almost none! agadmator's chess channel:

  • wow, nice camera for 1895

  • I assume Steinitz was and old man in 1916. I have seen this game many times and never cease of amaze me.

  • Brilliant game ! Great story telling Agad, thanks for sharing this with everyone.

  • 2:46 you won’t play Qb3 because black won’t capture the rook but black will play d5 and after Bxd5 then black can simply castle O-O and if white captures the bishop then black will also captures white’s bishop and after all the craziness happened, black will just be up a pawn in a much better position so after Bxc3 you have to go Bb3, stopping black from castling and after Bxa1 white just play Re1+, Ne7 blocking check if black doesn’t want to part with the queen and after Rxe7+, black must give up the queen now because if Kf8 then Rxf7+ can follow, it’s a double checks from the bishop and the rook, if the king goes back Ke8 then just Qe1+, Qe7 the only legal move and Qxe7# and if black doesn’t go to e8 and plays Kg8, it’s even worse because Rf8# is checkmate in 1 so in this line black must give up the queen and white will be in a completely winning game. You can check the Greco Gambit in this video from Chess Talk:

  • Steinitz is a hella cool surname

  • Thumbnail fell for the obvious misconceptions of powerful = bravest

  • Take thy rest and be healed as well!

  • WOWOWOWOW!! this is a good game!!

  • amazing game

  • Didn't charlie and daniel review this game ?

  • Can you explan why the King cannot capture the Rook on g7 at 16:34 ? I dont get why he shouldn't do it..

  • Doesn't look like 60 fps.

  • It was at this point, I met your mother.

  • Agad, plz make the video of Judit polgar vs Indian comedians game... She started the game with knight down position.. sacrificed a piece.. switched the board on comedians request and still won !! Very interesting game !

  • It is not true that Bardeleben simply walked out on the game. Okay, maybe he did, but I bet he stopped his clock first. Just kidding, he knocked over the board first.

  • I was so moved when the article was read.. holy my

  • I'm not a fan of Steinitz - great player but dour to watch. This however as you said in the original was a true masterpiece and proof that he played the way he did in order to win rather than due to a lack of imagination.

  • People in the 19th century didn't take an "applause" for the way we take it now. It has been known to applaud up to fifteen or twenty minutes after a great concert for example

  • why does the fps matter? it's fuckin chess, not basketball

  • be·times /bəˈtīmz/ adverb 1. ARCHAIC before the usual or expected time; early. "next morning I was up betimes" 2. NORTH AMERICAN sometimes; on occasion. Definitions from Oxford Languages

  • Wait! Where's the smiley video? And the dog??

  • Just WOW!

  • Bowles, almost certainly pronounced to rhyme with bowls, foals and holes; not with fouls, fowls and howls.

  • applause should be allowed

  • Ke5 seems better here

  • 2020: Agadmator redoes legendary game, for depth, for quality, and for adding some "sorrys"

  • I stopped my 9-5 with the help of, *p a i d t o b e h o m e .c o m*

  • Tiss the rook from hell.

  • Ben Finegold talks about this game a lot, just to show the beauty of it or more likely talk about the ending as he enjoys it

  • It fits well playing sabaton hell and back while watching that rook went all in against black camp

  • "I didn't want the applause to disturb the other players" sounds suspiciously like an excuse Bardeleben made up afterwards.

  • Acttely this game not so unique

  • I've watched the game before..but still failed at the "pause the video" momment..gah!!

  • Watch my videos

  • #suggestion some Rashid Nezhmetdinov games please

  • 30fps vs 60fps for a video where one piece moves once every second or two, make no difference to the visual experience, right?

  • Very correct way to say it as it is....made my day(although it is not sunday today)

  • The most impressive thing about Steinitz is that he was the oldest player to ever win a World Chess Championship at the age of 58. He was also the second oldest at 55, third-oldest at 53, fourth-oldest at 50 but he has to tie that with Botvinnik who was 50 himself.

  • i.e. sometimes, speaker doesn't recall or care when

  • betimes is older English for sometimes

  • My first true touch of Steinitz class

  • Should have told story in the beginning!

  • Is he talking faster than normal? Or am I an idiot for waking up to the alert and watching this at 4am???

  • then you face severe material loss :):):)

  • I have a doubt from where you get these games and from di you get the data base as many of them dont know from where do you get the games please give the link.

  • Chess talk (Jeetendra Advani ) and agadmator showed Greko attack on same day AM I RIGHT???

  • Later Steinitz go insane

  • 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

  • capture fest ??!?!??!!! :xDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • Why didn't the black D7 queen capture the g4 white queen?

  • 😎You are awesome agad sir😎.😊Sir Betimes means early🤗

  • After rxe7, kxe7 and qb4 what if ke8 ?

  • #suggestion anything from No Reverse Gear Rashid Nezhmetdinov!

  • Giocco piano: exist Agad: EVANS GAMBIT!

  • Bardaleben left to avoid applause. William shows the variation and gets the applause anyway. Bardaleben: Am I a joke to you?

  • Hey there I am making small videos on chess please if you have free time just watch it once

  • Let's make sure history never forgets... the bravest rook in chess history. -Captain Jean Luc Picard

  • Everyone has or has had a Madame Bowles that just pumps you up and motivates you to go for it all

  • can we get a game where the evans gambit is played?

  • Thanks agad, for making it clear what happens after Rxh7+ ! #suggestion Game of the Century remake 60 FPS, it would be great

  • he is very happy showing the game in 60 takes a lot time for processing the video right it is really long 23 mins video

  • Well this is the classic example of letting time run out in the analog world with the added advantage that there is no warning from the digital community that it will result in a temporary ban!!

  • #suggestion have engine evaluation on the side pls

  • The black king was not under attack, why can't he have it castled?

  • Larry Christiansen reviewed this game in chess master 9000

  • You are an excellent explainer.Hats off to you.I have improved my chess knowledge very much.Thank You!!

  • 0:00 Hello everyone 0:37 22:52 Non-60fps link 1:13 Let's check it out 1:40 Evans gambit 2:05 9:55 Bravest rook in chess history 5:02 Nice capture-fest 5:07 Captures captures capture captures and of course captures and captures 5:12 agadmator rap 5:26 Nice dog lift 5:30 Castle artificially 6:49 (9:44) Give you a couple of seconds 7:00 9:58 Enjoy the show 7:08 Laugh's in black's face 10:30 12:37 Completely winning 12:34 Captures captures 10:22 (..and captures with check!) 12:54 Boldly go where no rook has gone before 14:18 Pull a von Bardeleben 14:41 Very nice article 18:52 Standings 19:42 Incredible story reading 21:35 Sorry about that 22:42 So yeah 23:11 Morphy saga 23:19 Chess Manga

  • My #suggestion features 1. b4. Evan's Gambit right out of the gate! Gareev v Dominguez Perez (2019)

  • How about making a remake video of "the greatest question in the chess history"? Super amazing game!! lol~

  • Why arent you covering magnus games L

  • "Betimes" is a bit antiquated. It means "soon" or "early on". Most native English speakers would stumble on it.

  • Carissa was kind to him that day

  • Not only did von Bardeleben walk out, he did so in a Curt manner.

  • shot on greenscreen change background and wear clothes style from year the game played,,
