The chess24 Legends of Chess is the 4th stage of the $1 million Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour and features Magnus Carlsen and his predecessors as World Champion Vishy Anand and Vladimir Kramnik. It consists of two stages, a 10-player preliminary, where each player plays each other once, followed by a knockout among the top 4. Prelim ties are played as 4-game rapid matches, while knockout ties are the best of 3 such matches. The prize fund is $150,000, with $45,000 for first place, while the winner also qualifies for the $300,000 Grand Final.
The time control is 15 minutes for all moves with a 10-second increment from move 1. The winner of a preliminary tie decided in rapid games gets 3 points. If the score is 2:2 an Armageddon game is played, where White has 5 minutes to Black's 4 but a draw counts as a win for Black. A winner in Armageddon gets 2 match points, while the loser gets 1. The knockout format is the same except before Armageddon there are two 5+3 blitz games. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. Official website: chess24.com/tour

  • The dog leaves as soon as the 1st move was played.....

  • *This is Brutal Missed Calculation by Magnus*

  • Hi in the last move, can magnus go rf2 and change the situation?

  • I'm having a dilemma here... who should I root for :)

  • and you said game 3 is even more complicated than this? :)

  • Amazing game

  • I saw this game live and it was amazing

  • How is agadmator not a International Master.

  • The register of your voice is low, please imagin you ar not talking to a computer but to 20 people in a classroom. Thank you.

  • I have never seen anyone destroy the world champion like this! Go Nakamura! Amazing

  • 3:52 cant he just kill with king

    • Yeah that's what I thought too lmao

  • Immortal game

  • hello world ✌

  • Agadmator: e4 Dog: okay its about the time for me to leave

  • Wow this game was so incredibly intricate

  • Show a photo of Happy Hikaru

  • Magnus is a flippin millionaire... can some please get this guy a decent camera and a microphone... it’s kinda embarrassing tbh.

  • Why has agadmator become so impatient with the mouse clicks 😂

  • Nakamura is on fire!!!

  • Nakamura might be the next world chess champion, but the time will show us.

  • A lot of people riding Magnus here, but give Hikaru credit when it’s due. This game was totally one sided. Even Agad was excited. I think in this game Hikaru was so dominant it surprised everyone.

  • Hikaru checks the black queen at 6:43?

  • "If you don't want to hear it, close your ears"

  • Spoiler: Dog at 1:02

  • #suggestion the second match of day 4 where hikaru blundered bishop h3 yet saved the game is a lesson to learn how to defend. i guess agadmator must show that game to us as a course of defending critical positions.

  • instagram.com/p/CD4jNwIBQxY/?igshid=22ycwds6at9w Congrats on putting a ring on it.

  • It’s great seeing an underdog succeed

  • Thanks

  • Isn't Black's e pawn hanging very early on? Or is there tactics here?

    • If knight captures white pawn, pawn takes and queen trade in blacks favor, does that exchange not favor white? No castling but Queens off the board and a piece up. If knight doesn't capture it's just a free pawn

  • An impressive looking game but let's remember that it is a very short time format and would not happen in a longer format with these players. It is a lot of luck, intuition and hope.

  • Ah! The new type of "Sorry about that."!!!

  • Is it possible, that you mixed up the game in the explanation? It starts with c4, can't be the shown game? Or do I get something wrong. Thanks, nice work, captures!

  • Different game Different captain america shirt

  • Btc price went up quite a bit buddy needs to change his mystery gift

  • Today what happened was e5

  • Antonio, zasto si promenio da ti okviri polja na koje stavljas figure pobele? Nzm da li me razumes ali dosta je naporno za oci, vrati onako kao pre

  • 3:50 why not just capture with the king?

  • 6:46 why is chek?

  • The " sorry about that " part has become as usual as " hello everyone "

  • You need to make a short video featuring the dog. Introduce him to us, tell us his name, etc.

  • I wish naka wins

  • Nakamura actually blitzed Carlsen in this blitz game.

  • at 3:52 why cant the king just take the knight?

  • I came back to your channel after a very long time. You look a lot thinner than before.. Hope you are fine... Big fan

  • When Hikaru played Qxf6, what If Magnus played Rf8 instead of Qxc6. I'm guessing Ng4 in response?

  • It was in this position when Medo decided to jump off the couch after running into the nasty discovery of Berlin again!!!

  • The rise of the new world champion Hikaru 🦅

  • So good!

  • Agadmator wearing a hoodie: Hey kid you want some brilliant stuff.

  • Naka on a tear, that Wooden Shield training came in handy again El Magnito.

  • They look the same

  • *uhm uhm uhm,..*

  • morphy head for Nakamura 🥂🔥

  • one mistake by Magnus and the entire game just gets ruined

  • 6:44 and it was officially in this position that the queen became the king

  • Damn! What an insane game! Never saw Magnus dismantled like this... This miniature is a gem.

  • Attacking the Queen is also a Check ?

  • I've learned more about chess this recent time following this channel than for my entire life. Chess can occupy you so much that I really believe anyone who plays it can not be a bad person. It is something like mind martial arts🧠🙌👍! Keep going!

  • Damn one misplay costs a lot.

  • Yo I forgot to comment on this video, but now I am commenting

  • Is Hikaru playing out of his MIND to take all these games against Carlsen or is Carlsen simply slipping? Mind blown

  • At 3:52, when you are talking about the whole theory of what could happen, why the king couldn't just take the knight ? ( i'm kind of a beginner)

  • Really brilliant analysis, loved it.

  • And it was in this position that we all resigned the game and agadmator won the match

  • why couldn’t black king take knight f7 at 3:56?

  • That was wild...…………..

  • Hikaru on the fire 🔥the coolest GM ever

  • Berlin = Borelin

  • Berlin = Borelin

  • #Naka , naked his king.

  • I think Maggie finally met his mate in Hika

  • At 1:23 why not NxE5?

  • What happened to Antonio's setup?

  • How many of you want naka as world champion?

  • Lovely game

  • Me: Notices Nf3-e5 works Agadmator: yeah but did you calculate this whole line? Me: wot?

  • So E5 was hanging after all.

  • i know how much you like the evan's gambit : senewss.info/slow/rKnbpK6FhpbNbbo/video

  • I am cheering for Magnus in this finals, but I have to admit, that Nakamura is just playing incredibly strong at the moment. Magnus will have to improve if he wants to stand a chance.

  • Hikaru O: what a God

  • This could really be Hikaru's Blitz Immortal....such a rich collection of possible lines it's absolutely amazing

  • What if bg4 checking white king...White queen is lost

  • Agadmator you wrote the description wrong , please fix it

  • Nice match!

  • 2:58 It's a simple CAPTURE, but quite the unbeatable move...

  • The moves in the description are wrong

  • Ever since his twitch took off, Naka has seemed more confident both on and off the board. It’s great to see. I think maybe his whole career he has been used to being the outsider instead of the fan favourite, and his stream has completely changed that.

  • Is this echo box permanent?

  • I want to see this game being played in a classic match, so much potential and so many crazy lines

  • Magnus: hangs a pawn Hikaru: So you have chosen death

  • I really did enjoyed it Antonio !! Keep up the good work.

  • nobody gonna talk about the donations?

  • The e5 prophecy

  • 6:44 incredible, i didn't know that QUEEN can be in check, incredible

  • Nakamura led Magnus into “a very dark place” from which Magnus did not emerge.

  • Hikaru crushed his nemesis in style. That must have given carlsen some hiccups
